Caring for Carers

Giving back to those who continually give.
Carers are the forgotten section of our community. People who care for a disabled person work tirelessly and often without a word of thanks or acknowledgment for their hard work. Having a family member who requires more specialised attention is wearing and taxing on all the family.

Often "well children" may feel embarrassed, resentful or forgotten as attention is drawn to the child or person who requires more attention. This program is aimed at giving back to those who continually give.

The Caring for Carer's program started in 2003, providing carers with theatre tickets, restaurant vouchers, etc to give them some of the little extras we all take for granted.

In 2006, Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation initiated the Lady Cutler's Carer of the Year Award.

The Foundation received a $7,500 Grant from Woollahra Municipal Council for its “Pick Me Up” Project.

Lady Cutler and the Board are extremely grateful to Woollahra Municipal Council for their acknowledgement of the Foundations work and the approval of the Grant.
