Dame Elisabeth Murdoch awarded
Sir Roden Cutler Medal 2010
Dame Elisabeth Murdoch, AC, DBE, was honoured with the Sir Roden Cutler Medal for her outstanding lifelong commitment to supporting literally hundreds of charitable causes. In a very private presentation held over lunch at her home at Cruden Farm on Wednesday (Aug 11), the 2010 Sir Roden Cutler Medal was presented by last year's recipient Basil Sellers AM.
Attending this intimate gathering were Janet Calvert Jones (Dame Elisabeth's daughter), Lady Cutler, Basil Sellers, the Dame's great friend and entertainer Kamahl, and a handful of well-wishers. The 101-and-a half year old said she was honoured to receive the medal and proud that she had been able to assist so many over her lifetime.
While the charities she has helped are too numerous to list, her key areas of focus include academia, the arts, children, heritage, horticulture, medical research and social welfare.
